Catharine Young is a New York State Senator who represents District 57 (counties of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, and part of Livingston). Her district is over 300 miles outside of New York City. In fact, her district is closer to Cleveland, Ohio than NYC. Catharine Young takes advantage of this fact by constantly writing bills that help the wealthy NYC landlords who finance her re-election campaigns, while hurting the millions of rent regulated tenants who live there and are unable to vote for or against her.
In the past several elections, Catharine Young has accepted over $1.8 million in
bribes “campaign contributions.” She raised the most money in her most recent campaigns (2012 and 2014) despite the fact that she ran unopposed in both of these races. The real estate industry donates more money to her campaigns than any other industry.
